Journeywork aims to replace lawn with native plants. Everywhere. One yard at a time.
|
Why? Native plants provide more habitat for wildlife. The roots of native flowers, shrubs, and trees capture more stormwater than turf grass. They take up more carbon dioxide and give us more oxygen. We don't need to use fossil fuels to mow and maintain native plants. And they are pretty.

Journeywork has had the pleasure of working with enthusiastic yard owners like Kathleen who support our mission. As Kathleen describes,

Journeywork was great to deal with; it was fun working together with a smiling crew of volunteers to transform a couple of areas in my yard into attractive & eco-friendly gardens. I had a swampy area of lawn where mowing was difficult. That has now been transformed into a wetlands garden featuring lovely natives. The other area had a sprawling shrub that sheltered a plethora of non-native vines that I was tired of trying to control. That has now been cleared and transformed into a pollinator garden! I also love that Journeywork uses all native plants, promotes natural soil health, and both the landowner & volunteers work & learn together.

Please help us get more native plants in the ground in our community in 2024. Your gift will allow us to create more healthy habitat for people and pollinators. With your support, we can offer plant grants to schools, municipalities, and low-income neighborhoods.
|
No gift is too small--$10 buys 5 plants for a school pollinator garden.

Every donation made before December 31 will be matched dollar-for-dollar up to $2,000 thanks to a generous Journeywork supporter.
|
Journeywork is a 501c3 organization, and all donations are tax-deductible. If your employer has a match program, your gift can make twice the impact!

Thank you very much for your support!
