As our board chair likes to say, we are a grassroots organization working to get rid of grass. Not all grass, just most of the turf grass that carpets our lawns, our country's most irrigated crop.

Since 2022, we have added 7,182 native plants to 61 yards: taking out part of the lawn at schools, churches, and private residences. We planted 5,408 of those plants this year!

I started Journeywork to give people hope by offering a tangible way to respond to the climate crisis. Together. Every one of those plants in the ground and every one of you reading our monthly newsletters give me hope.
