Dear there,

Journeywork aims to replace lawn with native plants. Everywhere. One yard at a time.

Why? Native plants provide more habitat for wildlife. The roots of native flowers, shrubs, and trees capture more stormwater than turf grass. They take up more carbon dioxide and give us more oxygen. We don't need to use fossil fuels to mow and maintain native plants. And they are pretty.

Journeywork has enjoyed working with enthusiastic yard owners like Stacy who support our mission. As Stacy describes,

I have had the pleasure of working with Journeywork over this past year reclaiming my yard with natural, native plants in an area that had been overgrown and unattended. The entire communal experience has improved my attitude about community, expanded the beauty of my garden, and helped educate me in some of my planting decisions. I have enjoyed the whole process.

When you become a member of Journeywork, you join a native plant support network of local people learning and acting together to restore our habitat.

When you donate $40 or more to Journeywork, you will become a member. As a member you will receive a digital membership card, which you can use for a 10% discount at Edge of the Woods Nursery and a 10% discount at Good Host Plants. You will also receive discounts on Journeywork lectures and workshops.

We have already planned a few exciting offerings in 2025, including a talk with Sam Makler, the Nursery Manager of Collins Nursery, a lecture by Jenny Rose Carey, and a visit to Sara Weaner Cooper's yard, which was featured in the New York Times.

When you become a member of Journeywork, you help us provide free native plants to schools, outreach to scout groups, and buy loppers to remove invasive species.

We have set a goal of welcoming 50 members, and 29 members have already signed up.

Please help us get more native plants in the ground in our community in 2025. Your gift will allow us to create more healthy habitat for people and pollinators.

Journeywork is a 501c3 organization, and all donations are tax-deductible. If your employer has a match program, your gift can make twice the impact!

Thank you so much for your support!

With gratitude,
Paige
